TRIBUTE TO MOTHERS

TRIBUTE TO MOTHERS
“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10

There is no argument our time sensitive world impacts on everyday day life. The demand is so overwhelming that due processes and procedures are on the verge of collapse in our quest to march up with the spin of or be a head of time. Indeed we are literally open to a stampeding contest.

Historically even though we have come a long way and achieved some gains from our history of primitive culture, ignorance and oppressions unto civility, respect, opportunity and liberty etc we are can unanimously agree that our good is not good enough!

Indeed the stride had not been easy but behind us is our history; the future is before us and no doubt with renewed mind and a true spirit we stand at a better ground than our great fathers and mothers. We can not afford to fail our generation in our time.

But in our attempt to get up and catch up with time we are breaking orders with reckless impunity. Life is become a metaphor of the wayward driver.

Drivers plying on the roads do not see crime in breaking a well intended logic of a traffic light meant for order and safety. Indeed in our attempt for greater coverage, we are setting wrong precedents and creating endless causalities.

Against this background of breaking values and changing roles of society it is significant to raise these issues on a time as special as Mother’s Day.

There is no argument every man or woman come from a mother. This makes the concept of the mother an essential value for our learning and understanding. It is symbolic to know that by extension a woman is a mother but reasonably not every woman is mother. Who therefore is a mother?

By this simple reasoning we can understand that the issue of a mother not just a case of biology but a value thing. Mothers have unique natural inherent qualities essential to the development of their offsprings and gudians.

This is a divine giving and especially for mothers. Wonder about the blessing of the breast milk or that loving care? Indeed the blessing of the woman is not around her or with any man or body it is within her!

We learn about some great women who “stood up with the 11” in their time and at the time people questioned their ability and authority; they showed wisdom and awareness and literally signed a social contract to establish a strong foundation and society of motivated and inspired people.

Women who stood for a great cause beyond themselves and whose ingenuity, creativity and vision are a great source of lessons and inspirations. Alas! This unique character and ability of the woman is missing in the interests of today’s mother. This is a serious threat to the cause of society and human development.

Increasingly the concept of the woman is fast changing with the mother merely playing the role of an incubator in a science lab. She is become the simile of a mass production economy yet with little ability to process and to preserve for future use.

This backsliding role of mothers is a Global phenomenon. The advent of the internet and the stampeding demands of globalization put our societies in a fix with cultures on a collision course. The evasion can be so severe that our cultures and values may suffer a great loss.

But thank God we have women of great substance and understanding! This can only be when society particularly the mother reneges on her role. The unreasonable masculine and feminine arguments has not helped issues either but rather foresters doubt and anxieties.

But in all these challenges we see women rise up in self motivations, assurance and confidence to set precedents in leadership, order and wisdom. There is more than evident if mothers and the ordinary woman will appreciate her personality, ability and place in society.

As members of society we must acknowledge each other and recognize that that man or woman, male or female, boy or girl we each have a unique strength and only with the help and co operation of each other can we can prove our worth and progress as a people and a world.

The challenge is on and mothers in their quest for their full potentials either in politics, business or whatever should certainly not doubt their place and personality thereby deny society of their great contribution.

On the occasion of Mother’s Day we wish mothers and the women of Ghana an eventful and memorable mother’s day with a heartfelt one. God bless our mothers the ones in whose hands and hearts the hope and the future of this great nation and generation are.

Go! Mothers Go! “Good Better Best”. The heaven beneath is a mothers feet!

TOUCHING BASE

The greatest challenge of the modern man in the advent of civilization and stampeding technological, human development and increasing knowledge in our global village and difficult times is not really the “noun” but the “verb” thing. Is not about who he is but rather being who we claim to be! Being the real thing. “Are you the real thing?”

I remember as students we used to spend sleepless nights with our books but often with an attitude. This have been the proverbial concept of many a student and syndrome of our systems. Spot a group of student with their book and you will be shocked to know that the interest is not really for the book to go through but to go through the books!

That’s how the system works. It is not the real thing! Unfortunately our societies are being shaped in this manner. Chew and poor! Students show such brilliance and hope, we do well in academic work, get promoted and our status change. Gain new respect, praise and leadership. We become so proud and happy about our progress.

But there is always a moment of truth. In recent times there has been media information about some student in our tertiary institutions for the wrong reasons. Fraud. They had defrauded their way into higher learning and had been caught. They are not the real things. The world system is structured such that you are not shape to confront the future with the confidence of a real man but rather with the weakness of a weak man.

And, when the moments of truth dawns you we are found wanted. It has come to a point in time when as Christians we be a true witness of our professions. When you talk to human resource persons you will be amazed at their interesting reports. The reports are not one of hopelessness but great disappointment from job seekers. Most job seekers are over qualified with A+ rating and superfluous CV designs but a good number are unable to prove themselves

The CV job seekrs can make you guilty and wonder if you are the right person to view and consider their replacements. But indeed do papers and letter do the job? The real job is accomplished by skillful understanding of the subject matter.

This is the challenge. These are worrying signs not only for business, education and the economy but Christendom and our eternal security. We are caught up with the system and so familiar with it that we apply the same principle of dishonesty in the practice of faith with God. We love the feeling and the practice of religion and yet deny the power of it.

God is not like the politician who needs your vote to be in power. He is already in power. God is power! We can not play politics with God. We feign faith. We say I love you and give my live to you but we do not what we say. Time will always tell if we mean it what we say. We trade our faith and for failing blocks. We love the sound of sweet words and the sound of being born again and the wonders of being filled with the spirit and speaking in tongues.

We like to hold the bible, preach to others, sing praises lifting our hands and dancing to songs but pay little attention to the vibrating word of the spirit. We say pastor preach on! But o! Not because the word convicts us but rather because the word is for somebody next door.

I have come to realize most of the things we do in our practice of faith, are not out of actual conviction of the spirit and the love of God but are emotional expressions and outburst. We like to look good and attractive, we make sure we wash 3 times a day, keep clean clothing just to keep appearance to satisfy the self and boost the esteem and also as win the confidence and affection of others but fall short of keeping a decent and pleasant sprit in the inside.

We don’t care about looking good and decent before God. We are not careful to please God but hurry to please the self and man. Like the proverbial school boy, we do chew and poor and after the exam we forget it. We don’t know God with our hearts and spirit; we only have intellectual knowledge of God. The activities are “lip service” and without touching base with God. God help us to be the real thing! Be the real thing. That is your place!

Do you care to Know....

I spend the rest of my days and life thinking about life, people and my vast environs. Isn't it marvelours how this vast world and universe we live in came into being? As a child I always imagined the heavenly bodies and wondered justabout everything. I was particularly curious about whatever it was that held the space together and the seas in check so that for the sea would not swallow us!

the stories are varied, some say the world just came into existence and believe man was evolved from apes who live on trees, others trace it to some strange actions. Of courese as a child and many of us grew with the understanding that Israel and for that matter Jerusalem was in the skies or heaven above the earth!

It was a place to go only after you die. But this was entirely ignorance we lived in. Jerusalem and Israel are here with us! The truth is man is too precious a creation to be a product of another ceration like apes! Man is a product of God's faith and not systems!

Life and existence itself is a revelation, a relationtion of a caring, creative and a resonable source and this source is God. The univers and the people did not just evolved as we are made to believe.

"By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible " Hebrew 11:3

The eye of Vision

Things do not just evolve, they come with applications. From the above scriptural verse we learn that the earth ordinarily was bad and no good to for anything. But something happened to it and this totally changed the matter for good. Ordinarily everything is nothing and empty for everything to be something or somebody, sometime must happen to it.

May be you are confronted with the reality of poverty, diseases and disappointments here and there and nothing seems to be working for you and your daily prayer and desire is change! Change! Change! Don’t worry there is hope for you!

It is instructive know to that the beauty and serenity of the world in which we live was worse than anything you can imagine. It fact it can not be accurately conceived by the carnal mind or senses but the fact and the truth is that change do not just evolve, they are caused to happen!

Something necessarily must happen for that bad and hopeless situation in your life to change for good! Vision was the cause of this beautiful world place. The right use of the eye of the spirit turned the otherwise hopeless situation into a living one! How passionate are you about your situation? How do you see it? Begin to look at your dead condition with a different out look. ...and God asked Ezekiel...can this dry bone live again? Yes, your situation can change, you can live again!

How do you see you circumstances? Begin to see it with the eye of the spirit. Change does not just come; it comes with a different attitude beyond ordinariness. The creative mind is an ability lying fallow in man and not many has realized its potential and effect on change. God put it in man to help man analyze her problems and think creatively.

I am trying to bring your mind to an idea. Now God did not see void and emptiness when he saw void and emptiness. He saw life and hopes in the dead situation. What do you see in your situation? Hopelessness? May be but it depends on how you see it. You may have messed up with your self and gotten self impregnated.

You feel so bad and dirty you never like to keep the unborn life in you. you want to take a revenge and finish before it becomes an albatross on your neck. I want to tell you God never make mistakes, we make mistakes. What is there in your body is a good and precious thing.

It is not wrong to keep the baby in your body, what is wrong is your impatience to your body. That is what you should deal with and not that awesome blessing in your body! The spirit of God is an advantage for a turning point and you have it.
Consider a Godly desire and turn your plights around into something beautiful and pleasant and you have the help of the Holy Spirit. He totally agrees with a godly desire! “And the spirit of God moved upon the water”.
